Bringing Michigan Hispanic legal professionals together for over 30 years.

About HBAM

Who we are.

The Hispanic Bar Association of Michigan (HBAM) was formed in 1991 to cultivate the science of jurisprudence, promote reforms in the law, facilitate the administration of justice, and elevate the standard of integrity, honor, and courtesy in the legal profession in the State of Michigan.

Our Mission

Why we’re here.

The Hispanic Bar Association of Michigan seeks to (1) provide a voice for Michigan’s Hispanics, especially those involved in the legal profession; (2) counsel and assist the Hispanic community by supporting local and charitable organizations; (3) advocate for greater representation of Hispanics in the legal profession and in public office, and (4) facilitate communication amongst Michigan attorneys and others concerned with the law.

Make a Difference

Many practitioners began their careers in the law, because they wanted to make a difference. Many of those same people are searching for a way to make a contribution of time, money or expertise in order to benefit the public.

The HBAM is an organization of like-minded legal professionals, interested in making a difference. We host an annual charity fundraiser; we put on seminars and pro bono law clinics; we sponsor educational programs and mentorships; and we make matches so that young people have more opportunities for experience and networking.

Build Your Practice

The population of Hispanic individuals and businesses in Michigan is growing. This growing population needs assistance and legal services for all sorts of concerns, ranging from personal injury and benefit claims, to business formation and immigration.

The HBAM helps to put lawyers and clients together through its Member Directory; through regular networking events with sister organizations, like the National Society of Hispanic MBAs, the Michigan Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, APROMEX,; and through internal, member-to-member referrals.
