HBAM Bylaws Overhaul
HBAM voted to amend its bylaws on October 24, 2024, marking the most significant overhaul of the bylaws since 2019. HBAM’s bylaws and the memo detailing the latest revisions are below.
Our members include attorneys, judges, law students, and other legal professionals.
Our mission is to advocate and promote the social, economic, and professional advancement of Hispanic and Latino legal professionals in Michigan.

Have you considered ways that you, as a lawyer, can give back to the community?
The State Bar of Michigan has adopted the Voluntary Pro Bono Standard stating that all active members of the State Bar should participate in direct delivery of pro bono legal services to the economically disadvantaged.
HBAM has partnered with the Michigan Immigrant Rights Center to offer volunteer attorneys pro bono opportunities to help people in Michigan who need legal counsel with asylum and other administrative claims. No experience is necessary—MIRC will train you! Spanish and other foreign language skills are helpful but not required. For more information email RMIRC at mirc-pro-bono@michiganimmigrant.org.
